What's the first thing (about school) that you think of in the morning?
"Where's my coffee? How to be alert enough to help people."
What are three things that Students should know about you?
"I was born and raised in the Netherlands, I came to the US when I was 20. I have two high school daughters and I run two marathons a year. Also, my husband and house guidance dogs in training."
What made you want to come to Shabazz?
"The philosophy. Meeting everyone as they are. The staff is super committed and are here because they WANT to be. Also, the size and the feeling like I know everyone."
What should new students know about Shabazz?
"We want you to come, you've been selected. It's a good match. So, come as you are. The staff bends over backwards to help the students succeed. And also the academics."

"The students. Everyone is so polite and nice and fun to work with."
What's your most used saying?
"Please tell me how I can help you."
